Okularium

An optical retailer selling precision and expertise — where the buying experience has to feel as careful as the product.

Optical retail and consultation

The situation

Okularium specialises in consulting on and selecting products for eyes, with a clientele that expects precision and a high level of service.

Selling on trust means the purchase path has to demonstrate competence. A clumsy flow contradicts the entire promise of the product.

What we did
  • Built the product on detailed research and analysis, with the explicit aim of finding problems early rather than after launch.
  • Documented decisions as the work progressed — component design and micro-interactions included — so the service could be maintained coherently by other people.
  • Kept the experience pro-user throughout: clear structure, intuitive navigation, no dead ends.

What changed

A product for demanding customers, backed by a knowledge base that lets the business keep the experience consistent after the project closes.
