ZaplacRecepte.pl

A medical payment service whose hardest user is a patient under pressure, often elderly, sometimes unwell.

Healthcare payment service

The situation

ZaplacRecepte.pl lets patients reach doctors, save time and handle prescriptions more securely. The people who need it most are frequently the least comfortable with digital services.

The original service asked a stressed, unwell person to learn an interface. That is the wrong ask, and the failure mode is silent: the patient simply gives up.

What we did
  • UX research to understand the target group's real needs — in this case, comprehension under pressure rather than speed.
  • Low-fidelity wireframes to test the structure before committing to visual design, then adjusting the style to what users could actually follow.
  • Rebuilt the flows around the two moments that matter: reaching a doctor, and completing payment.

What changed

A service organised around the patient's state of mind, where the security of the process is visible rather than explained — which is what makes it usable by the people least able to tolerate ambiguity.
